Milton Keynes Market

Brand strategy and visual identity for the city's only central market.

Milton Keynes Development Partnership (MKDP) commissioned us to create a visual identity and brand strategy for Milton Keynes Market. Our approach led to finding a balance between the clean-lines of the city centre and shopping building (it’s location) with the personality and spirit of the market and the people who work and visit there.

We undertook extensive research on site and off site from stall holders and shoppers to stakeholders and staff. Each conversation or workshop session was collated into a heat-map of opinion and observation that ultimately informed the brand strategy and led to the approach for the visual identity and tone of voice.

The resulting identity was launched in August 2023 with a series of summer events sparking new interest in the market and its potential as a key cultural venue for city going forward.
